We walked to the well house. Sam is stood at the corner. His back was turned. Waiting for his bride. Kayla slowly made her way around the house. She smiled from ear to ear. They rested along the wooden frame. They locked hands. As I walked around the couple and made my way to Kayla, Sam whispered something. Kayla turned and said, "he wants to look".

The morning started off without a cloud in the sky. I drove into a field with a white tent that was filled with beautiful colors, details and people decorating. As Kayla finished putting on her boots we set Sam up outside the well house. I explained to Sam exactly what we were going to do. I explained what a first look could entail. They were going to write letters, but decided to hold hands and not turn around. To everyone else, his first expression, his excitement and tears were for the ceremony, but to Sam and Kayla it was meant for them.

Sam whispered something. Kayla turned and said, "he wants to look".

I sprang to their side. I put them into position, lined the camera and told Sam to turn around. You could see the smile get wider as his eyes watered. His beautiful bride. Behind the well house. Without anyone else around. He was able to react to her with every emotion he was feeling without the world watching. For a moment it was just the two of them, tearing up, laughing and looking. It was hard to continue taking pictures with tears in my eyes.

Kayla walked back into the house to touch up her makeup and rest. She had another first look with her uncle and grandfather. Their faces were so proud. As her grandfather dried her tears she was ready to walk down the aisle.

The rest of the day flew by. Lots of dancing! The energy underneath the tent was electrifying. Their family and friends knew how to sing, laugh and dance the night away. I was right in the middle of memories being made. I checked my watch and realized I should've ended my night 45 minutes earlier. I reluctantly said my goodbyes and headed to the Jeep. I know for everyone else, they didn't want the night to end either.

Dear Kayla + Sam,
